Exhibition dates: 3/10/09 through 5/30/09

Opening Reception:
Third Thursday, 3/19, 6:00 - 8:30 pm

Headlining this extraordinary exhibit is guest artist Becca Bernstein, with a new series of cameo-like works created specifically for this exhibit. These new works are joined by twelve paintings selected from her recently completed portrait series.

Joining Bernstein are guest artists Buck Braden, exhibiting seven paintings from his ‘Street Car of Desire’ series, with Celeste Bergin and Mark Randall. Bergin’s newly created series reflects the process of creation in the artist’s studio, along with a selection of enormous mixed media posters from Randall’s ‘Life In The Circus’ series.

Showing with these accomplished guest artists are four nationally exhibited visual artists from the four corners of the U.S., mixed-media artist Tom Virgin from Miami, New York printmaker Sarah B Hauser, New Mexico printmaker Anthony Lazorko, and pointillist photographer Gary Rosenblum from L.A.

These distinguished artists are joined by 14 outstanding regional artists: Kathleen Chamberlin, Leslie Cheney-Parr, Kurumi Ishikawa Conley, Daniel M Daniels, Ellen Emerson, Andrei Engelman, Uta Felhaber-Smith, Patricia Gifford, Ruth Lambert-Smith, Robert McWilliams, Carolyn Rondthaler, Jo Siddens, Lisa Strout, and last season's First Place Award recipient Allen Schmertzler.

This superb collection pushes the boundaries of the artists' chosen media while exposing the often blurred boundary between the subject and the object

Individually, their art explores the limits of their chosen media and exposes the smudged boundary between ‘subject’ and ‘object’. Collectively, this ground-breaking exhibit illustrates the human impulse to hunt and gather, to act out of our packrat natures, and tell tales that anchor the present with the past. In the process, creating the art of a culture.
